The Ashford Estate itself has some great cycling trails and the surrounding countryside, with its relatively quiet roads and spectacular scenery, is a cyclist’s haven. Cycle hire is available at the hotel and we can suggest a variety of popular routes.
Cycling tuition
Improve your skills with a mountain bike lesson and choose between a private one-to-one or a group session. From beginners to advanced cyclists, our qualified MBLA instructor is on hand to offer advice and tips.
Guided bike tours
For the more enthusiastic rider, we can arrange guided bike tours which provide an amazing opportunity to see Cong and learn of its history and heritage. Departing at 10am or 2pm daily, the tour duration is two hours and caters for all levels of ability.
Half-day bike rental: €35 per adult, €30 per child (under 16 years old)
Full-day bike rental: €50 per adult, €40 per child (under 16 years old)
Ashford Castle cycle tour (1.5 hours): €100 per adult and €75 per child (two people minimum, minimum age of 10)
Joyce Country Cycle Tour: €250 per adult, (two people minimum, minimum age of 10)
Connemara Cycle Tour: €500 per person (seven hour private experience, available for groups between two and six people, includes vehicle support, food and beverage can be arranged as an addition to the package)
