Purchasing (Inventory Manager)

An exciting new role of Purchasing / Inventory Manager for the Ashford Estate has just become available reporting directly to general manager & director of operations, this person will be responsible for all purchasing elements of the estate including controls, maintenance service contracts, costings, stocktakes, purchasing, specifications, tenders, deliveries,storage, etc.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Degree in finance or business related discipline
  • Experience as a purchasing manager in the hospitality industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of sourcing and procurement
  • Strong analytical skills and a flair for negotations and networking
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends as the business requires
  • Detail orientated and the ability to make quick decisions, problem solve to achieve budget requirements while ensuring compliance with policy and financial expectations
  • Well presented, outgoing and approachable with strong people management skills

The successful candidate will be expected to have previous experience as a purchasing manager preferably in hospitality. Their responsibilities will include coordinating cost effective agreements with current suppliers and developing contracts with new suppliers. They will be able to perform strategic purchasing activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers, monitor departments to ensure purchasing agreements are adhered too.
