How do I get to Ashford Castle?
Ashford Castle is located in the village of Cong in County Mayo. The nearest train stations are Claremorris or Galway and we will happily arrange transfers for you to and from these stations/airports as well as other destinations should you require. Pricing based on two guests:

What’s the easiest way to pay the Motorway Toll Fee when I drive to Dublin City Centre or Dublin Airport?
There are 2 Motorway Tolls to be paid when driving to Dublin City Centre. These can be paid in cash directly to a machine, or if change is required, to an available attendant. Please follow overhead signage for the correct lane.
The toll price for a car is below, variations on this price apply for smaller or large vehicles.
When driving to Dublin Airport you will also have to pay a Motorway Toll on the M50, this can be paid online at www.eflow.ie/. You simply need the vehicle registration number and a credit card. This can be completed up to 24 hours after your journey, later payments may be subject to a fine.
If I drive to the hotel, where can I park my car?
We have a large car park which is free for all guests to the castle.
What can you do to help simplify my onward journey from the hotel?
We can provide you with up-to-the-minute travel updates for flights and train travel. We can arrange to have your boarding card pre-printed to save you valuable time at the airport. We can provide an airline picnic and coffee to go to save you time queuing for refreshments at the airport or station.
Can you recommend where to go jogging?
We are lucky enough to be surrounded by 350 acres of garden and woodland, ask at reception about the best pathways to go jogging.
Is there a fitness centre close by?
We have a wonderful gym, sauna and steam room at the hotel, which you are more than welcome to use with our compliments.
Do you have a spa?
We have a spa in house which offers a wide range of pampering treatments which will relax and restore you in luxury. See the spa section of the website for our available treatment menu.
What activities are available to do on the estate?
There are a wealth of activities available on Ashford Estate. These range from Falconry, Horse Riding, Archery, Shooting, Water Sports, Fishing, Tennis, Golfing, to name but a few! When making a room reservation our team will be happy to find an activity to suit your interests.
Concierge are always on hand to assist with booking activities for you during your stay. There is also a wide variety of board games available from the hotel reception desk.
Do you have a Golf course?
Our beautiful 9 hole, 2996 yards, par 35 parkland course, provides the perfect environment for golfers of all ages to hone their skills. The golf course is available free to our guests, charges apply for hiring clubs and buggy's. Tee-times can be booked upon reservation or upon arrival with concierge.
How would you suggest to reach the Connemara National Park and how much time should I allow?
You will need a car or driver to fully explore the Connemara region. We would suggest taking about 3-4 hours to drive around and further time if stopping off at attractions along the way. For route options see the ‘Touring Ashford Castle’ on our website.

How easy is it to reach Galway City Centre from Ashford Castle and how much time should I allow?
Galway City Centre is approximately 40 minute drive from Ashford Castle. There are local bus services available once a day, times are available from reception.
What dining options are there on the Ashford Castle Estate?
There are several dining options available to our guests at Ashford Castle:
- George V Restaurant offering a fine dining dinner experience from 6.30pm to 21.30. Gentlemen are required to wear a dinner jacket, tie is optional & ladies no denim.
- Cullen’s at the Cottage internationally inspired menu. Open seasonally for lunch and dinner.
- The Dungeon modern and traditional Irish menu. Open daily for dinner from 6.30pm
- Afternoon Tea served daily at 2pm & 4pm

Who do I advise should I have specific dietary requirements?
Please advise reservations when making your booking or reception at check-in and your dietary requests and requirements will be relayed to the kitchen.

All bedrooms have international plug socket and USB charging points installed.

There is air conditioning all throughout the public areas and the newly renovated Victorian bedrooms.

There is free High-Speed WiFi available throughout the castle. A personal email address is required to connect to the WiFi services.
Do you have a laundry and dry cleaning service?
We offer guests a same day laundry and dry cleaning services. Laundry is available 7 days a week and Dry Cleaning is available every day apart from Sunday – please ask for more details upon check in.
Do you offer a babysitting service?
There are a number of extremely qualified child minders that we would be happy to recommend for your family. Please ask for further details when making your room reservation.
Can I bring my pet with me?
Pets are welcome in our guest bedrooms and a range of pet beds and amenities are available - this can be arranged when making your reservation. Please ensure to give prior notification. Though a deposit is requested upon arrival in case of any damage caused, this will be returned to you at the end of your stay.
What is the hotel's smoking policy?
Ashford Castle is a non-smoking property. Smoking bedrooms can be a made available with prior notice and will be subject to an additional cleaning deposit.
