Cré: Kitchen Garden Experience

Cré, meaning soil or earth, represents the rich foundations on which the Ashford Estate's Kitchen Gardens were built. This immersive experience includes a tour of the historic Kitchen Garden where guests will forage and taste produce. Following this, guests are invited to a hands-on cooking session with our Executive Head Chef, Liam Finnegan, at Squire Danagher's cottage, culminating in a flavourful three-course meal crafted from seasonal homegrown ingredients.

Discover Cré

On the Ashford Estate, ‘cré’ echoes the deep-rooted commitment of our gardeners, who cultivate and care for our vegetable plots and grounds, as well as our talented team of chefs, who are dedicated to infusing every dish with a profound sense of place and purpose.

From Plant to Plate

Led by a member of our garden team, guests are invited to learn about seasonality and to touch, taste, smell, and pick items from the Kitchen Garden. Guests will then join Executive Head Chef Liam Finnegan and Sous Chef Hillary Casey at Squire Danagher's cottage for a culinary insight into flavour balancing and preparation of a variety of dishes. This experience culminates in a three-course meal prepared by our two chefs using harvested garden produce from the Kitchen Garden. This unique experience highlights the symbiotic relationship between gardener and chef as well as offering guests a memorable culinary experience in the historic building where ‘The Quiet Man’ was filmed.
